Early Childhood Family EducationWhat is Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)? Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a program for children, ages birth to Kindergarten, and their families. ECFE offers quality classes to strengthen parenting skills and to discover activities to help your child learn and grow. Watch your child thrive and make new friends! Playing and learning together strengthens the parent/child bond. Come to class and gain knowledge of child growth and development, temperament and discipline techniques. Each class includes parent/child time, learning activities for children and parent discussion. Classes are led by Minnesota State Licensed Parent and Early Childhood Educators. Fees for the program are based on the annual gross income of your household. We appreciate your honesty as our program relies on the fees we receive from participants. Financial assistance is available and no one will be denied participation due to inability to pay. Please call 845-5060 for more information on scholarships. Semi Private Preschool Swim (PS) Level 2Semi Private Swim LessonClasses are 50 minutes and meet 4 times. Maximum class size: 3 Participants become comfortable in the water learning basic skills. Safety topics include pool rules, recognizing lifeguard, safe water entry, being able to recall name and phone number, helping yourself in an emergency and proper use of life jacket. The child must be 4 years old and have completed PS1 level in order to take PS2. The child must also be comfortable separating from their parent to enter the pool with the instructor. We’ve found that children adjust more easily when the parent says goodbye on the pool deck once the instructor is ready, then observes from above.
