Early Childhood Swim Lessons
Jump in for Fun! In this Early Childhood Swim Lesson, the participant will be in the pool with a parent/guardian or a person over the age of 16 they feel comfortable with. Our instructor will guide you in ways to interact with your child in the water to not only have fun, but learn the fundamental skills of swimming. Skills taught include front and back paddling, kicking, floating, treading water and advanced breath control. -
Private Swim Lesson
Private Swim Levels PreK-6 lessons are 25 minutes for 4 sessions. They are designed to give any participant the individualized attention necessary in order to improve or master swimming skills. Please indicate what swim level your student is in upon registration. Maximum Class Size: 1 New Preschool Level 1 & Preschool Level 2 (Ages 4/5-child must be 4 years old by the start of the swim lesson date) - (If your child is 4 or 5 years old and passed the Preschool level last year, please enroll them in Preschool Level 2; if they have not taken a preschool level yet, please enroll them in Preschool Level 1). Skills taught include front and back paddling, kicking, treading water and advanced breath control. The goal in these levels is to perform each skill unassisted. -
Semi Private Preschool Swim (PS) Level 1
Classes are 50 minutes and meet 4 times. Maximum class size: 3 Participants become comfortable in the water learning basic skills. Safety topics include pool rules, recognizing lifeguard, safe water entry, being able to recall name and phone number, helping yourself in an emergency and proper use of life jacket. Preschoolers who are 4 should take this level before the PS2 level. The child must be 4 years old by the start of the class and comfortable separating from their parent to enter the pool with the instructor. We’ve found that children adjust more easily when the parent says goodbye on the pool deck once the instructor is ready, then observes from above. Skills: (Some Skills Performed with support) Enter and exit the water Blowing bubbles Submerge eyes, nose and mouth Open eyes underwater and Pick up object under water Back floats Front/back glides Flip flops (rolling from front to back) Move along the gutter Front/back paddle Treading water motions -
Semi Private Preschool Swim (PS) Level 2
Classes are 50 minutes and meet 4 times. Maximum class size: 3 Participants become comfortable in the water learning basic skills. Semi Private Swim 3
Classes are 50 minutes and meet 4 times. Maximum class size: 3 Participants learn to be comfortable with new skills in deep water and learn new strokes. Safety topics include helping yourself and others in an emergency, safe weather conditions for swimming and proper use of life jackets. Skills: Jump into deep water and return to wall Swim underwater and pick up an object Front/back float in deep end Flutter kick on front/back with kick board Treading water in deep end Front crawl with rhythmic breathing Back crawl Elementary backstroke Breaststroke kick Breaststroke arm motion -
Semi Private Swim 4
Classes are 50 minutes and meet 4 times. Maximum class size: 3 Participants increase endurance, improve skills learned in Swim classes 1-3 while learning new skills. Safety topics include basic first aid, reaching assist and proper use of life jacket. Classes are 50 minutes and meet 5 times or 60 minutes and meet 4 times. Maximum class size: 3 Participants learn ways to improve efficiency for strokes learned in Swim classes 1-4 while learning new skills. Safety topics include first aid, throwing assist and proper use of a life jacket.
