Tech Academy Harry Potter: Learn 3D design and modeling skills using Tinkercad while creating a Deathly Hallow model, then creating your own magical pendant. Together, you’ll explore the wonderful world of apples through engaging stories, songs, circle time and creative apple-themed arts and crafts. This playful learning experience is a great way to spend quality time together while building early learning skills in a welcoming preschool classroom.

Emergency Outfitters This course is best suited for 10-13 year olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems. Students will receive a reference book, handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit. Please bring a writing utensil, snacks, beverage(s), and lunch. Food will not be provided. Char Bzdok Ready, Aim, Launch! Step into the world of ballistics and structural engineering in this high-energy, hands-on workshop. In CANDY CORN CATAPULTS, students become “Siege Engineers” as they design, build and calibrate their very own desktop launcers. The mission? To successfully navigate the physics of flight and land a “harvest” of candy corn into a series of bubbling cauldrons.

Char Bzdok Come and learn how Cotton Candy is made with and without a machine. In this class we will be learning how to make Cotton Candy by heating and spinning flavored sugar and Jolly Ranchers. We will also be playing games for fun prizes like a Carnival and EVERY child will go home with Cotton Candy and lots of prizes! Come and have some fun with your friends and enjoy the carnival.

Megan Gaebel Join us for a fun-filled fall art class! We'll paint a beautiful pumpkin on canvas and create a colorful autumn tree using Q-tip painting to make vibrant leaves. This hands-on class encourages creativity, builds confidence, and gives every artist two festive projects to proudly display or share with family and friends.

Hannah Carlson Girls come to engage in non-contact, continuous action flag- football, while learning lessons based on teamwork. This course will teach the rules and skills needed to know how to join our MN Vikings Flag Football girls team for grades 10-12. T-shirts will be ordered after the first session.

Get Outdoors MN Join us for a unique and exhilarating experience under the stars! We will go on a guided nighttime hike that will take you on a journey through the wonders of the dark. All hikes are guided, and glow sticks are provided to create a magical atmosphere. Enjoy a s'more smorgasbord around the campfire as you listen to the sounds of the night. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Albany Area Community Education is proud to offer the National Archery in the Schools Program. Both new and returning archery (District 745 only) students are welcome! Our trained instructors will focus on teaching proper skills and safety for the sport of archery. All necessary equipment for participation is provided. Only NASP approved equipment is permitted to be used in practice or at tournaments (personal Genesis Bows will be allowed but must be approved by coaching staff prior to use). Practices will be held on Sunday evenings in the BECC. Additional practices may be added, depending on gym and coach availability. New archery team members will be required to do safety training the first evening of class. (NEW this year-4/5th grade archers only eligible to compete in the local I-94 league tournaments- (not NASP state tournament). First 3 Practices: Separated by Beginners or Returning Sun Dec 6, 13, 20 Beginners (First Time in NASP or first time was this past summer): 5:00-6:00 pm Returning (In NASP Last Season): 6:00-7:00 pm Remaining Practices: Choose Your Time Preference Sun Jan 3-Mar 28 (No Class 12/27, 1/24, 3/7, or 3/21- Practices subject to change without reimbursement) The last practice will be the banquet which is included in this cost. Please be checking your emails as we send out lots of updates in this program. Archery is coached by volunteer coaches that have gone through training and background checks. We could not do this program without their commitment, so please make sure to thank them and be respectful of their time. Parents are asked to be quiet during practices and to keep other children at home if possible. No food or drink should be brought into the BECC. Tournaments will be held on Saturdays at the below locations. Everyone will be registered for the Albany Huskie Archery Tournament on February 20, 2027, but we ask that you still register for FREE in Arux so we know you plan on attending. All other tournament registrations are optional and will be an additional fee of $12 per tournament. Tournament registration and deadlines to register will be shared as they are made available. Parents will be responsible for transporting their students to/from the tournaments. Team members participating in tournaments will be assigned a one-hour flight slot and they will be free to leave after their flight. You must participate in 2 tournaments in order to be eligible at the state tournament. You don't need to qualify for state to compete, if you want to go, you can sign up. Nikki Myogeto, Albany Area Schools Teacher Come join the fun and learn the strategic game of cribbage! Students will practice their mental math, observe and continue patterns, solve basic functions, witness probability concepts, and relate sets and combinations. The final class will be a tournament to see who has the most skill and luck. Note: For those who already know how to play cribbage, look for Cribbage Club this winter. Albany Dance Team Coaches & Athletes You are invited to dance with the Albany Huskies Dance Team! We will learn skills that the Huskies use during winter season, play fun dance activities, as well as learn and perform a routine at the halftime of the Varsity Football Game. A meal will be provided and pom poms for you to keep! Please register before Sept 18 at 12 pm to guarantee a t-shirt and pom poms.

Patty Peschel, Albany Area Schools Teacher Knowledge Bowl is a series of interdisciplinary academic competitions. During the competition, teams of students compete in written and oral rounds by answering questions related to all areas of learning typical of elementary or secondary educational programs. Questions test students' recall, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Practice will be held twice a week on M/T from 3:15-4:15 pm. Each team will have the opportunity to compete in meets this fall. Teams will leave for meets around 3:00 pm and will return around 8:00 pm. More information on meets will come once it's available. Transportation is included in the price of this class.

Paula van der Hagen, Albany Area Schools Teacher This middle school production will give students the opportunity to explore all aspects of theatre while getting time on stage in a fun, supportive, and creative environment. Each student will have a part in the play and will work on technical elements to bring the performance to life for an audience. Practices are Mondays-Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 pm and students will perform the afternoon of February 6.

PotSpot Instructors Join PotSpot to paint a fun decoration of your choice. We will provide an assortment of pieces, some with a fall theme. We bring the supplies, you bring the creativity! The PotSpot will fire your piece in their kiln and return it to school in about two weeks. Parents please pick up your child from the art classroom, enter through Kids Co doors (#4 at AVE and #5 at ALE).
